PhD Scholarships at Faculty of Life Sciences

Faculty of Life Sciences at University of Copenhagen (LIFE) is offering a number of PhD scholarships within one ore more of the below mentioned areas The scholarships are available within a number of specific research projects relating to one of the following elite research areas:

LIFE´s elite research areas:
  • Plant biotechnology
  • Animal health and animal models
  • Bioimaging
  • Food quality, food safety and zoonoses
  • Obesity and appetite regulation
  • Plant biosystems
  • Water resources in biological production
LIFE´s emerging elite research areas:
  • Metabolomics and bio-active substances
  • Early nutrition and growth
  • Nanobioscience and biophysics
  • Environmental chemistry and eco-toxicology
  • Social science development research
  • Center for Social Sciences and Environment
The key tasks for PhD students at LIFE are:
  • Research - the research project will take up most of your time
  • Teaching and dissemination
  • Participation in PhD courses
  • Writing articles and the PhD thesis
  • A stay at another research institution, possibly abroad
To qualify for these scholarships, the applicant must have experience relevant to the specific project in question in addition to other research qualifications. Award of the elite scholarships depends on the field of applicants.

The positions are available for a 3-year period for applicants holding a relevant Master´s degree or for a 4-year period for applicants who are already enrolled or are accepted to be enrolled at one of the Faculty´s Master´s programmes.
